I finally decided to take the plunge and self publish one of my little tales. The story within The Nephilim is one I've been working for over a decade. I sketched out some characters, wrote some scenes, came up with a buttload of back story, and then put it all away for a few years. In a lucky turn of events, I uncovered it again recently and decided to give it life. It was difficult to take writing I did in my teen years and transform it into something that represents who I am now as a writer, but I'm ultimately proud of the first in what I plan to be a trilogy. The young adult genre is very close to my heart. I love the idea of writing for people who are figuring out who they are and who are open and excited about life. And I can't imagine writing anything without at least a dash of the supernatural in it. I just don't see the point to fiction if there isn't any fantasy in there.
